Skiing, Hockey, etc

My 2010 has started off rather well. School hasn't been as stressful as it was the first three weeks of the quarter--it's definitely a hard quarter, but I finally got into a good routine. There are only one or two classes that may cause me some problems, but I'll battle through it.

My New Years was pretty great. New Year's Eve was spent playing the Wii Obstacle Course with some of my best friends and other randomness. Penn State won their bowl game on New Year's Day, which was also excellent. I did not enjoying leaving to head back up to Rochester so early, though--we started classes back up on January 4th. It's been four weeks since I've been home, and I probably won't be home again for another four to four and a half weeks--the longest I've gone without driving back to PA! My weekends have been busy, and with Friday classes and Sunday meetings, it really just isn't that practical to go home any weekend.

RIT hockey has been doing rather well (although they have lost some more games since the beginning of the year--however, none were at home!). I got my jersey signed a couple weeks ago by all of the players on the team. We just went three full weeks without a single hockey game, but RIT is back in action this weekend against Bentley University (we beat them 4-1 tonight).

The highlight of 2010 so far was last week when several of my friends and I went to see the Jeff Dunham show at the Blue Cross Arena. I also went skiing for my first time ever last Saturday. The Jeff Dunham show was great... I saw him two years ago also. Skiing was amazing, and the weather for it was also excellent. I definitely did not do so well in the beginning, but I got better by the end of the afternoon. I think I may have to go again sometime soon, next winter at the latest! I learned my lesson though, and never again will I wear jeans under my snow pants... I developed severe sores/blisters that are still healing.

Well, there are only another three weeks left to this quarter, and then finals. Spring break will soon be approaching, and then eleven weeks of spring quarter. I registered for my classes yesterday morning. I have almost the perfect schedule--no classes on Fridays, and I'm done by 2pm on Thursdays. However, I scheduled 8am classes... my philosophy behind this is that I will be waking up early all summer for work, so it's better to get used to waking up early now!

I'll also be figuring out housing for next year soon. I'm hoping to find a good apartment for next year--I'm sick of getting stuck with roommates that I don't particularly get along with (like this year, for example). There's a possibility that I'm going to get into a University Commons apartment, which is the best option on campus. Fully furnished, my own bedroom, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and they are all fairly new. I am excited, so we'll see how it goes! My friend who offered the room to me I don't really know all that well, and I don't know any of the people he lives with, but I hope that it might possibly work out. :-)

Well, I'm about ready to crash soon (I think), so it's time to be signing off for another couple weeks!
