The College Life
At RIT. I'm already halfway through Week 2 of classes. It has been a fun 16-17 days so far, I can't believe the time is moving by so fast. There's so much to do, so little time to do all the things I want.
Anyway, it all started way back on Saturday, August 23rd. My parents and I left for RIT and I met up with a group of freshman for an unofficial "Freshman Pre-Move-in Dinner" at the Mykonos Cafe. It was nice getting to know some of the other incoming students.
Sunday was the big move-in day, and the high temperatures sure didn't help. I've found out that one can get a lot of exercise when living on the 4th floor. (Especially when all my classes are about 15 minutes in walking distance away.)
The first week was the week of Orientation. Some of the invents included a comedian, a hypnotist (amazing!), and RIT's very own "Meal or No Meal". Somebody won $900 in food debit.
The start of Week 1, I joined the Running Club. I also had interviews for two job positions. I am now employed at the two best places on campus--I am the webmaster for the Residence Halls Association (3 office hours per week) and I also work for the Education Technology Center... where I generally do homework and occasionally have to deliver equipment to buildings/classrooms.
If you couldn't tell, I'm loving everything right now. The work is starting to get stressful, but it's been a blast otherwise. I spent 24 hours on Saturday doing a scavenger hunt, of which my team did not win a damn thing but it was awesome anyway.
I finally got out and drove around parts of town yesterday. I found the mall and Wegman's, so that's good. Now I just need to finish out the week (last class ends at 7pm on Thursday), and I'm free!
