Atlanta Trip - 06/24/08 to 06/30/08

I traveled to Atlanta with five other people from my school. It was the national competition for the Future Business Leaders of America. I WON MY EVENT!!! Woot. I had an amazing time--there was never a dull moment.

06/24/08 - Day One
- 2 hours of sleep. Left the house around 3:30a.m. to head back down to Harrisburg with Curtis. Tried coffee at Dunkin Donuts, didn't like it.
- Waited at the airport for way too long. Arrived in ATLANTA around 10a.m. or so.
- Stone Mountain Park. Was. Amazing. I took lots of pictures. Besides taking the sky-lift up the granite mountain, we also had a picnic and went miniature golfing.
- Our hotel rooms weren't ready, but we went to Turner Field to watch the Braves game. Left at the end of the 7th inning because everybody was falling asleep.
- The hotel was amazing--47 floors and everything was open... you could see down on all the other floors.

06/25/08 - Day Two
- Early wake up. 5:30a.m. Got about 5 hours of sleep this time.
- PA meeting at 7:30. Then we went on a walking tour to the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium.
- Both places were absolutely amazing. I took more pictures. Coca-Cola has some good products in other countries, but also some bad ones. Beverly is horrible!
- While waiting to go to Fogo de Chao for dinner, we went to Centennial Park and played in the water fountains to cool off a bit.
- Fogo de Chao has AMAZING food.
- I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure all we did after this was explore the hotel and the surrounding mall. And other fun stuff.

06/26/08 - Day Three
- Bus tour of the city at 9a.m. Also went to the historic site for Martin Luther King, Jr. Saw his grave in the fountain.
- Ate lunch at the Varsity. "What'll ya have?!"
- Opening session at the Georgia World Congress Center.
- Took Marta back because it takes awhile to put 7,500 kids on buses. Bad choice, still waited a long time.

06/27/08 - Day Four
- Got to sleep in sort of! I had my test in the afternoon and almost fell asleep taking it. I watched a few other competitions (Virtual Business). Also did some studying.
- Walked around Atlanta afterwards and probably almost got shot in the Underground. Don't ever go near the bar.
- Ate a late supper at Hooter's!

06/28/08 - Day Five
- After watching more of the Virtual Business competition in the morning, we decided to tour the CNN building and then go to Lenox Square. The CNN building was really cool. I didn't buy anything at the mall, but I did get good food and saw a free concert at the iPod store.
- Randomness that night. Actually, all nights were pretty random. We did fun things, like bowling with a bouncy ball and empty water bottles.

06/29/08 - Day Six
- Brunch at the Hard Rock Cafe.
- Brad, Seth, and I went to the fountains at Centennial Park again. Got absolutely soaked.
- Awards program at the Georgia World Congress Center.
- Ice cream social.

06/30/08 - Day Seven
- We left the hotel around noon. Our flight was at 2:52p.m.
- Arrival back at Harrisburg around 4:30p.m.
- Stopped at Pizza Hut for supper with Curtis.
- Back at my house around 8p.m.

Wisconsin Trip - 06/11/08 to 06/18/08

So, I've been on two trips recently. They were amazing. I don't want to forget the things I did everyday, so I'm going to write a few entries to help me remember. They won't be too detailed--I don't have much time to do this!

First up... Wisconsin! I traveled to Wisconsin to meet up with friends that I met while I was in Australia two years ago. I had a fun time, even if I learned that all there is in Wisconsin is fields and cows.

06/11/08 - Day One
- Left the house around 12:15p.m.
- We arrived at the Harrisburg International Airport around 2:30.
- The flight to Detroit was at 4p.m.

- Detroit Airport was huge; I mostly just walked around and got food (pizza and fries). There was this cool tunnel with a light show.
- My flight to Green Bay was at 7:20, but it was delayed for almost 30 minutes.

- I MET CHRISSY IN GREEN BAY! Her mom and boyfriend Tyler also were there to take me back to their house. It was a one hour drive.
- Once "home", I met Les, her father, and watched TV about all of the flooding in the Midwest.

06/12/08 - Day Two
- I watched Chrissy coach softball until 10a.m., then she gave me a tour of the "big" town in the rain.
- We went back home and looked at pictures from Australia and other countries. We watched Big Momma's House.
- It rained most of the day.
- Chrissy's mom treated us to Culver's for lunch. I got to try cheese curds and Sundrop soda! (A beef burger makes a butter burger better...)
- Tyler came over; we had supper and then played cards.
- The three of us went to Dairy Queen and Tyler's brother's "box".
- Chrissy played on the piano for us a little bit, too.

06/13/08 - Day Three
- We had another lazy morning. We watched parts of more movies (we did a lot of this during the full week, actually).
- Chrissy took me to a diner for lunch. I tried tarter sauce with my french fries. Apparently that's a central Wisconsin thing. I also had Sundrop out of the bottle.
- After lunch, we went to the mall in Appleton.
- We came back for dinner with Grandpa.
- Since it was Friday the 13th, we went to the movie theater and saw The Happening.

06/14/08 - Day Four
- Chrissy's mom took us out to breakfast at a cafe.
- Chrissy drove me to Little Falls Resort. It was a small park with bunnies, deer, and a peacock. Nothing too exciting, but she had never been there either.
- We then went to Tyler's friend's house to play the Wii and more card games.
- Chrissy took me to Wittenburg to meet Cody halfway from his house. (I hung out with him until Sunday night.)
- For dinner, I had mountain pies and s'mores.
- Cody and I went to a graduation party. We played carpet ball. Got back around midnight.

06/15/08 - Day Five
- Cody's parents took us boating in the afternoon for a couple hours. Yay, sunburn.
- I learned how to waterski! We also went tubing!
- Did I mention that we also had more cheese curds? AND PODS!!!

- Cody drove me back to Wittenburg in the early evening.
- Chrissy took us to A&W for free ice cream (Tyler was working). Then we played more cards.

06/16/08 - Day Six
- We had another lazy morning. Chrissy coached two softball games in the afternoon.
- Sundrop slushies!
- 1st game: 2-2 tie
- 2nd game: 6-0 loss

- We had dinner again with Grandpa.
- Free floats at A&W!
- More card games...

06/17/08 - Day Seven
- I was home alone in the morning. I waited until Chrissy came back from coaching.

- We drove to Green Bay!
- Chrissy and I spent about 4 hours at Lambeau Field.
- Lunch at Curly's Pub (more cheese curds).
- Tour of the stadium--really sweet. We walked out on the field and even sat in box seats.
- PackersProShop
- Packers Hall of Fame

- We went back home for dinner with everybody, Tyler, and Grandpa.
- More cards. Frisbee. A campfire. S'mores! TV.

06/18/08 - Day Eight
- Left at 10:30a.m. for Green Bay Airport :(
- Chrissy and I had our last lunch inside the airport.
- My flight was at 1:30p.m.

- I arrived in Detroit around 3:30.
- I ate dinner at Burger King (What?!), then walked around. My layover was 3+ hours.

- I arrived in Harrisburg at approximately 8:30p.m. and spent 20 minutes trying to find my parents. Arrived HOME at 11p.m.
